NEW ADVISOR CHECKLIST

Although training needs for new advisors vary according to department, college, and specific job duties, all advisors need to follow specific procedures and understand certain policies to function as an advisor. 


 
Gaining Access to Advising Systems – Complete the Following Procedures 

Complete FERPA TrainingPlease visit here to complete the required FERPA Training.
Request access to UAccess Student Center: Contact your supervisorTo request access for: the Enrollment feature in UAccess, UAccess Analytic, Program/Plan Changes, and Service Indicators. You can complete the trainings by logging into Edge Learning in UAccess, please visit here.

 

Getting Virtually Connected to Campus – Complete the Following Procedures

Enroll in Advisor Onboarding ProgramTo enroll in the Advisor Onboarding Program, ask your supervisor for permission.
Establish UA Net IDCreate and establish your own UA email account.
Request Addition to UPAC listservTo get added to the University Professions Advising Council listserv, please contact UPAC co-chair or ARC staff at advising@arizona.edu
Request Addition to any listservRequest being added to any relevant departmental and/or colleges Listservs. Visit individual departments for requests.
